Hi, I’m Ronan Barrell. I’m an Applied AI Engineer with 15+ months of commercial experience designing, building and deploying end-to-end AI systems.
At Projekt Rising, I built AI products for a platform intended for SMEs and their employees. I owned projects from requirements and architecture through backend development, testing, frontend integration and deployment to Azure App Service staging environments for internal team testing.
My focus is LLM applications, agentic workflows, tool calling, RAG, hybrid retrieval, structured outputs and evaluation. I primarily build with Python and FastAPI, integrate services such as Microsoft Graph and OAuth 2.0 providers, and use automated testing and targeted evaluation scenarios.
Outside commercial work, I build ambitious personal projects, including Personal Finance Intelligence and the Multi-Agent Cognition Sandbox. I also previously founded and operated NexusForge 3D, a small 3D-printing business.
